Hey all, Happy Tuesday!. This past weekend has been a cold windy one here in Michigan. I knew right then that winter is coming (Game of Thrones fans, High five!). Thus, I knew instantly that it was time for a sweater. The snuggly knit sweater!. The sweater that reminds you in summer days but yet keeps you warm. Today, I will talk about how to wear a coral pink sweater in fall/winter and my life story of color transformation.

Well!. A sweater is my best friend in cold weather. Whether I reach for it to put on an outfit or living in it in the winter time, I cannot live without a sweater in my closet. Besides, It is that cozy feeling that gives me each time I wear one. While most of the time I will just put over leggings. Classic and Basic!. Not with this particular sweater though. The color of this sweater is so unique to go with the basic. right!, I did not see it with black anything. It is bright, fun and It gives the feeling of summer days yet it is soft and cozy for fall and winter. Therefore, I styled it with medium wash gray jeans.
Must-Have Knit Sweaters-How to wear a coral pink sweater in fall
This fall, I have seen so many bright sweaters than any other years. Maybe the fact that this year is all about 80’s look which let me screams YAY!. Finally, we can go out of our way to choose daring colors like pink toned hues. Thus! in early October, I picked the coral pink sweater from Express in here. The sweater has a cozy relaxed design and stylish funnel neck along with soft shaker knit finished with a trendy low-high hem. I thought it is perfect for this weekend. Also, I want to inspire you on how to wear a coral pink sweater this season.

Style it with jeans
The best way to style coral on a casual office day or weekend is to pair it with jeans. You will never go wrong with jeans. Plus, You probably have more than one in your closet just like me😀. I recommend choosing denim color that is light to medium wash or leans to gray a bit. I opt in for a medium wash gray mid-rise jeans that have flowers on the sides. The flower embroidered made me forgive the mid-rise style since I am not a high or mid rise jeans girl. It seems I love flower embroidered so much on jeans. I featured them previously in embroidered graphic cutoff denim shorts.
Anyhow, Coral pink sweater goes perfectly with gray in general. So a hint of gray in your jeans will do the trick.
I got my jeans from express sadly they are out of stock. but they have jeans that somehow look similar on sale in here and here.
Go with a skirt
If you are looking to elongate your silhouette and give your look an edgy look but yet work worthy. Then go with a skirt. A Sweater and A skirt are a great combination for work in cold weather or just when you want to look sassy during the day. Thus, Opt-in gray skirt like the one I featured in Fall trend-stretch knit short skirt. Pair it with snake print heels and it will be the perfect combination.
Layer underneath
Since this sweater has a low-high style, I decided to put a gray tank underneath. First, the tank will keep me warm. Second, I believe having a layer under sweater peeking through gives such a flattering touch to the overall look. Thus, I suggest if you are wearing a layer underneath your sweater, don’t always tuck it inside your jeans or trousers-let it shines through.
Accessorize it
The accessory is key to any look. And this outfit is no different. Thus, I suggest adding accessories in the pink color palette to go with your theme such as pink earrings like the one I have or gold rose necklace. Also, You can add one pop of color either through your bag or shoes. I choose to go with cognac color bag (I got this bag a few years ago from Michael Kors). And there is something about this cognac bag and fall that no matter what outfit I have on, the bag seems to fit perfectly with it. I love that it complements my brown with a hint of cognac sunglasses from the5.
In addition, I chose the toned down cream city sneakers also from MK to go with the white flower on the jeans. I am not into brand name all over shoes. However, these city sneakers are different. First, you can barely see the brand name on it ( since it is light brown color) thanks to the design from the front and The style is so comfortable to wear all day for casual Saturday. Plus, I got them for around $39 from Marshalls. Steal deal!.
My life story of color transformation in fall/winter
Husband’s effect or what I think it is
Turning a few pages back in time, I used to wear a black most if not all the time. fall/winter time was all about dark colors for me. Till one day, My husband now asked me: Why do you wear black all the time. I was stunned and surprised at his daring question. I mean here is a man I am attracted to, commenting on the dark colors I wear in fall/winter time. So, I went to my closet and I looked around. Ohh! all my clothes are indeed dark in colors if not black. Nevertheless, instead of telling him this is my style which back then I did not know what was my style. I decided to start a challenge.

Adding colors to my wardrobe.
Before my husband commented on my color choices, I always felt that I needed to unleash my colorful side but I did not know when or how to start. Thus, I thought it was a good time to make a change. I looked at my closet for a few minutes. I noticed a pattern. Dark gray, black shirts, Black jeans, black blazer, etc….
Thus, in order to know who I was, I challenged my self to add a new color to my closet each month. At first, I started to add lighter colors in the same gray hue till I felt so comfortable to go now with a pink coral sweater. Of course, My journey was a long one but I enjoyed this experiment. Surprisingly I love colors in fall and winter time and I feel more comfortable wearing them more than any other time of the year. From time to time, I will add a new color to my wardrobe challenging myself to see if I will love it or hate it.
While you can still see me in black sweater But I started to pair it with more colors such as silver in silver metallic mini skirt look or red in red pants fall trend.
Now that you know how to wear a coral pink sweater and how my color choices transformed over the years, It is your time to show me your style and tell me if your color choices transformed too. Your husband is absolutely right. And I’m clapping him that he noticed. o) Bright colors look amazing on you. But you can see it all the time, when the colder weather comes, everybody is turning to dark colors. Maybe it is just mood.
