Memorial day weekend is always a reminder that summer is right around the corner ( in some states 🙂 ). Thus, it is time to travel. Each year, as I mentioned in my beauty essentials to pack for your next weekend getaway in here, my husband and I go for road trips and we plan them ahead of time. This year is no difference. We are going to the windy city; Chicago. Chicago is a busy city with wicked weather. It can be rainy, sunny, windy and even worse stormy. It is very hard to plan what to wear. So many times, I filled my car with clothes I end up not wearing. However, This year I vow to go light with must pack pieces for your weekend getaway :).

What must pack pieces for Memorial day weekend.

Easy, versatile and comfort are three words that come to my mind when thinking of what must pack pieces for Memorial day weekend. The key is pack light and enjoys your time.

The Sundress

Always chic and practical. From during the day to night out, Sundress would be your go-to. In the picture above, I am pairing it with my pink light flat and/or high heels to attend a musical concert on my Memorial day getaway. Also, I will layer it with a scarf as the night cools down.

Go with shorts

Mix and match with your shorts is a fantastic way of packing light. You only need a couple of tees. (SHUSH) it will not take space in your bag. Besides, I love my soft black stripe tee. I got this stripe tee from Athleta. I wished I got it in all colors.

Jeans for messy weather.

I traveled to Chicago so many times to know by now that it has an unexpected weather. Therefore, I always pack my jeans in case mother nature decided to mess around. Hence, I am showing two outfits with two jeans; one I have already talked about in how to style oversized sweater in here. The other one is just basic light blue jeans. I will layer over with a floral shirt along with my raincoat.

Pack your light jacket.

No matter where your detestation is. Pack your raincoat with you. It is easy to carry in your backpack or to put on your hands. Another essential piece is your cardigan sweater. It will carry you throughout the day.

Accessory.

Now that you packed you must have pieces. I am pretty sure you still have space. You can leave that space to the accessory. Bring your sunglasses, your jewelry, your hats and your shoes. the latter, I pack three; One is flat. Second is sneakers in case I would go for a run or workout. The third is either wedge or pump shoes for night out. It will make your repeated outfits seem fresh and different.
