Hello friends,!. Baby, it’s still cold outside!. Which means it is time to snuggle with hot cocoa and Netflix. Raise your hand if you are like me and you are binge-watching on Netflix. But with valentines’ day approaching, It also calls for meeting up with friends. Whether you are celebrating Galentine’s day or just meeting up with friends for lunch, there is no doubt that dressing up is a struggle. So, Do I wear formal for business or keep it casual or maybe just in between. Today, I will be sharing my semi-casual winter lunch outfit and give you an idea of how you can look simple yet elevated and stylish for lunch date with friends.
Semi-casual outfit – Winter lunch outfit
Just because winter is not going anywhere anytime soon doesn’t mean your outfit cannot look updated and cool. In fact, wearing a basic outfit while layering to stay warm can be really stylish. Over the weekend, I went for lunch with my gals. One, we wanted to celebrate Galentine’s day early. Second, We were planning to go shopping after lunch since the weather was a little collaborative. Thus, I wanted to wear something that would take me from lunch to walk with comfort.
At the same time, I didn’t want to consistently take off the outer layer each time I step in a warm place. Therefore, I decided to layer up to warm my self without overheating myself.
Dot shirt as a layer.
I opted for a base layer that shines thanks to its soft silky fabric. I thought if I can add a touch of red or its hues then it has to be by adding it to the base layer. Besides, If you know anything about this year trend. It is about dot print from tops, dresses to even shoes. Besides, The combination of pink/coral and a shiny dark silver base is just perfect for a lunch day. Right!. I got the playful dot shirt from Express. Again express win today’s outfit.

Moreover, I don’t think I bought anything from them that puzzled me to style. Even though I try to stay away from a formal outfit. This shirt wins me with the fun combination of coral and dark silver. Thus, I felt so confident to style this classic shirt with a sweater. which brings me to my next point.
Sweater as an outer layer
In order to feel comfortable during lunch and shopping with my friends without taking off my coat each time. I thought by layering a sweater over a formal shirt will not only tone down the formal vibe but it will also keep me warm as if I am wearing a coat. Thus, I decided to go with a gray sweater as my outer layer to complement the shirt. In fact, this sweater I have styled it before in my red pants fall post. I am so happy that I could style it again to give me the semi-formal look I seek. Then, I decided to throw my jeans on.

Jeans on
Nothing let me feel comfortable while going out than skinny jeans. These skinny jeans are not any skinny jeans, they are performance skinny jeans. Basically, They feel like active pants with the comfort that it gives but stylish to take everywhere. Moreover, They are stretch, they hug my curve well and they have an adorable embellished design on the back pockets. While Express ran out of this exact style, They do have similar comfort and color that I picked up for you in shop similar look down below.

Accessories – Winter lunch outfit
Accessories as simple as heart pendant and drop earrings fit well with the outfit and elevate it even more. In other words, accessories make everything put together. That’s why I did not only stop there, I add a few floral pins on my braid hair updo.
To finish off, I put on my ankle black boots. I featured them earlier in my Fleece sweater post. I got these boots from DSW. they are one of the comfort shoes I have owned even with heels. They have cushioned footbed to ensure optimal comfort and I could not be happier.

Finally, This outfit was a perfect fit for my Galentine’s day Since I wanted something that is semi-formal while keeping me warm, comfort and stylish at the same time. Now, Would you wear semi-formal for lunch with friends?. Let me know in the comment below.

This entire outfit is so cute! I love the polka dot shirt layered under your sweater. I truly like this look but have not perfected it in my way. I always have the buttons showing up or the shirt is scrunching. You have inspired me to try it again.Maureen | http://www.littlemisscasual.com
